MYSURU: Denounced for poor attendance of employees during government programmes, the district administration has issued notices to all officials and staffs of central, state, board, corporation, autonomous institutions, directing them to attend the 68th Republic Day celebrations on Thursday without fail.
The notice also warns that the employees who fail to attend the event at Bannimantap Ground will have to face disciplinary action.
In order to check the employees’ attendance, an attendance register book will be kept at the temporary office room arranged by the district social welfare department at the venue. All the employees have to register their attendance before entering the venue and similarly, sign the register book while leaving the ground after the completion of the programme.
Those who fail to attend the programme or neglect to sign the attendance register will have to face disciplinary action taken by the district administration, said additional deputy commissioner T Venkatesh.
The event will start at 9 am at Bannimantap Torchlight Parade Ground where PWD and district minister HC Mahadevappa will unfurl the national flag. Education minister Tanveer Sait, mayor MJ Ravikumar and others dignitaries will be present. The cultural programmes will be held at 4 pm at Kalamandira, which will be presided by MLA Vasu.
Meanwhile, the district administration has directed the public not to use national flag made of plastic or paper, but instead should use flag made of cloth.
