Andhra and Telangana Governments Relieved
Relief to Andhra:
Central government intervenes to settle the discussion between Andhra and Telangana governments over release of Krishna water from Nagarjun Sagar dam to Krishna region.
The Central Water Board Chairman AB Pandya has organised a meeting with chief Secretaries of both states at Hyderabad on tuesday. Pandya, who is also in-charge chairman of Krishna water board has requested the Telangana government to release 6 thousand cusecs of water for 1 week starting from tomorrow. The board members will meet again after one week and take an appropriate decision after reviewing the situation.
Relief to Telangana:
AP government’s decision to remove all the energy purchase contracts made with Telangana power distribution companies prior to bifurcation of the state has been taken out by the Southeast Power Regulating Commission today. It decides to follow current agreements until Center takes some choice on this problem. Hence, Telangana as usually will get 615mw energy source from APGENCO until Center will take a choice on this problem.
