Vijayawada: The AP Government will soon waive the loans of 25,000 handloom weavers in the state. Rs 110 crore loans of the weavers will be waived off by the Government. The loan-waiver will be implemented in a program which will be held in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, said BC Welfare Minister Kollu Ravindra.
The Minister today conducted a review meeting with officials of BC welfare, Excise and handloom welfare departments.
The utilisation of funds allotted to various departments in the Budget was discussed in the meeting.
The Minister stated that the loan-waiver was delayed due to the Aadhar linkage. In every consituency an Industrial zone will be developed in an area of about 20 to 25 acres.
The revenue of the Excise department increased by 10 percent compared to the last year. The Revenue can be increased further by curbing the sales of Adulterated alcohol at the boundaries, said Minister.
A massive public awareness programs on Adulterated alcohol will be conducted in the state. The land acquisition for the
Machilipatnam port will be completed shortly, said Minister.
