Deputy CM: Heritage Milk contains detergent
With the Heritage food row rocking the Assembly on Wednesday, deputy Chief Minister T. Rajaiah, who also holds the portfolio for medical and health, said that the Heritage milk contained detergent. He added that a case against the company in this regard was pending in a city court. He said that the government would initiate stringent action against 11 milk supplying firms, including Heritage, based on the outcome of the case in the court. TD members, who strongly objected to the remarks of Dr Rajaiah, stormed the well of the House and disrupted the proceedings, forcing Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary to adjourn the House twice.
“It’s the TD members who initiated the debate on adulterated milk in the House. They sought to know what action the government took against suppliers of adulterated milk. When the government is giving a reply, the same members are obstructing it.
Yes, we have copies of orders issued by the Kerala government imposing a ban on Heritage. Why should the TD members raise a hue and cry over this issue ?” said IT minister K.T. Rama Rao in the Assembly.
