Five IPS Officers in race for Telangana DGP Post

IPS OfficersAbout 5 Senior IPS Officers have been in race to become the Telangana’s new Director General of Police (DGP). The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has already sought the Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) of four out of five of these efficient top cops of DGP-rank to pick up the best choice.

List of 4 Senior IPS Officers in race for Telangana DGP Post:

Aruna Bahuguna (1979 Batch) – Currently serving as Director of SVP National Police Academy

AK Khan (1981 Batch) – Currently serving as Special Director General (ACB)

K Durga Prasad (1981 Batch) – Currently serving as Special Director General (CRPF)

Anurag Sharma (1982 Batch) – – Currently serving as In-Charge DGP

UPSC seeked just a clarification about another DGP-rank IPS Officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon (1983 Batch), who is – Currently serving as DG of Special Protection Force (SPF), in its letter to Telangana Chief Secretary. After a detailed analysis, UPSC will shortlist the names for the top post and Telangana Government would appoint the new DGP by picking up one among them
