The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday passed strictures against the AP government’s dilly-dallying over the arrest of the top management of the AgriGold Group of Companies.
The Justice commented that the credentials of the government were suspect in regard to the case when government pleader appeared before them.
The court asked the government why there was a delay in the arrest of the AgriGold top management. `Are you going to arrest the AgriGold top management after 1 year of filing the case,’ the court asked.
On the contrary, the court said it had doubts that the government was helping out the accused.
The court demanded an affidavit from the government on the number of the bank accounts in the possession of the top management.
Raviprasad committee, in its report, said the bank accounts of the AgriGold management were not all that valuable.
While postponing a hearing on the report, the court said a payment of Rs.25 lakh costs be paid.
