Even as the High Court turned down the plea to hold big dharna, Telangana JAC Chairman Kodandaram decided to lead a big rally with unemployed youth demands in Hyderabad Wednesday.
Alerted police immediately swung into action and deployed heavy police forces at Indira Park, Osmania University and at all entries into the city. Intelligence officials said some anti social elements conspired to create law and order troubles during dharna.
While chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is on two day pilgrimage to Tirumala, top police officials are closely monitoring the movements of leaders of JAC in Hyderabad and in districts round the clock. Police checkpoints are also opened at several sensitive areas.
Police are planning to take all JAC and opposition leaders, who will participate in dharna, into preventive custody before they rush to dharna points.
