A 33-year-old football player from old city in Hyderabad named Mir Baquer Ali Razavi died under mysterious circumstances after being hit by a train at the Osterly railway station in Manchester in the UK on April 12. The city police on the 17th received an official communication about Razavi’s death from the UK police authorities. His body is being sent to Hyderabad.
However, Razavi’s parents Abbasi and Hassan Ali Razavi cried foul and alleged racial attack to be the reason behind their son’s death and demanded state government’s intervention. Their claims were refuted by the UK authorities saying that no ill motives caused his death.
A year ago, Razavi filed a complaint against some locals in the UK and he was beaten up badly in a racial attack. Razavi’s bones were crushed and he flew down to Hyderabad for treatment and again flew back to the UK, where he was about to be awarded a huge sum towards compensation.
Razavi completed his B.Com in Hyderabad in 2009 and later left for the UK to pursue an MBA program. His father runs a tea stall in Malakpet.
