Amritsar: At the Indo-Pak border at Attari near Amritsar, a 120-foot-long and 80-foot-wide tricolour was hoisted by Panjab minister Anil Joshi on a 360-foot flag post – India’s tallest- meters away from the zero line.
The flag is high enough to be visible from as far as Pakistan’s Lahore city.
The flag, which weighs over 100 kg is made of parachute material so as to ensure that it can withstand winds at that height. To complete this project it has taken 3.50 crores .
The 360 feet pole weighs 55 tonnes and is taller than Delhi’s famous landmark Qutub Minar.
