Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister Shanmugam on Thursday said they would hand over a master plan for the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh by June this year. Shanmugam called on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat here and discussed the plan for the new capital and sought to know the government’s efforts for developing the new State.
Speaking on the occasion, Shanmugam said Singapore was coming up with a suitable master plan for the capital of Andhra Pradesh by June this year. The master plan would prove handy for the new State to transform its capital city on par with world standards, Shanmugam said.
He showered praises on the AP government’s discipline, integrity and persistent efforts to develop the State. “We have agreed to provide the master plan by seeing the skills and professionalism in urban development. Being aware of these things, businessmen and investors are queuing up to set up their businesses in the new AP capital, he said. Shanmugam also said Singapore had appointed Gopinath Pillai to promote Andhra Pradesh in his country.
