Modi worlds third most popular leader
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved a rare feet. He crossed 1 Crore (10 Million) mark on Twitter as his number of followers reached 1 Crore. This makes him the second most popular elected leader in the world after US President Barack Obama. Modi also happens to be the third most popular leader in the world behind Obama and Pope.
“Our PM Modi has reached 10 million followers on Twitter,” Twitter said in a statement on Wednesday. The micro-blogging site further stated that Modi’s election victory tweet was the most re-tweeted tweet in India in 2014.
In a series of firsts, according to Twitter, Modi is the first Prime Minister in the world to use Twitter Mirror and the first politician to make a video tweet. PM Modi made his Twitter debut in January 2009. Narendra Modi, an active social media user, has a fan base of more than 27 million on the world’s largest social networking platform Facebook.
