A storm was triggered by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy by saying that superstar Rajinikanth is a Marathi and not Tamilian. The outspoken politician took a dig at Rajini in regard to his possible entry into politics.
Swamy not only claimed that Rajinikanth is a Marathi from Bengaluru, but also said that the Talaiva would fail if he chooses to join politics, according to CNN News 18.
He has even said that Rajinikanth has no ideology and must stay out of politics. Swamy further said that actors are good at making statements as their dialogues are written.
The 66-year-old actor had earlier hinted that he might join politics in near future.
Rajinikanth was recently quoted as saying at an event in Chennai.”God decides what we have to do in life. Right now, he wants me to be an actor and I am fulfilling my responsibility. If God is willing, I will enter politics tomorrow. If I enter, I will be very truthful and will not entertain people who are in this to make money. I won’t work with such people,”
Rajinikanth had also said that he will not join any political party. “I did a mistake by supporting alliance 21 years ago. It was a political accident. Some politicians have misused my name on so many times. But I have to clarify, I am not joining any party,”
