The Telangana government on Tueday chose to lead an extraordinary battle against polio after a specific sort of polio infection was found in sewerage water in the city.
The infection (antibody determined polio infection sort II) was found in the lab tests led on tests of sewerage water gathered at Amberpet here, as per Rajeshwar Tiwari, Principal Secretary (Health) of the state government.
The infection was found in the checks led as a component of the observing framework set up after polio was destroyed in the nation in 2011.
“The administration chose to lead an uncommon crusade against polio here and in parts of Ranga Reddy region from June 20 to June 26,” he said.
The battle would be focused at youngsters in the age gathering of six weeks to three years.
