On the auspicious day of Dasara, Telangana CM KCR inaugurated his most ambitious idea, the 31-district Telangana, amidst much opposition from his detractors and even some common people.
In a shocking update, a man named Uduvati Raju alias Dappu Raju (29) from Multhummeda village in Kamareddy district doused himself in kerosene and committed suicide protesting KCR’s decision to include Nagireddypeta Mandal into Kamareddy district.
Raju raised slogans demanding that KCR should include Nagireddypeta Mandal into Medak district, before setting himself on fire at the Thyagaraja statue on the Tankbund in Hyderabad. Police rushed him to Gandhi hospital where he succumbed to severe burn injuries on Saturday night.
Raju was a daily labourer in Hyderabad and he actively took part in the agitations that demanded the inclusion of Nagireddypeta Mandal into Medak district instead of Kamareddy district. He was deeply upset after KCR didn’t consider their demand and went on to inaugurate the new districts on Dasara.
