Tamil Nadu Government has been successfully implementing the scheme of offering Rs 12,000 to the woman who deliver baby in Government Hospitals. Hence, 80% of such deliveries are happening only in state-owned Hospitals in the neighboring state.
Whereas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on the eve of New Year that pregnant woman could receive Rs 6,000 if they opt for government hospitals.
The delivery rate in Government Hospitals across Telangana is just 31%. T-Government has been offering just Rs 1,000 for each pregnant woman. Even lack of cleanliness and sufficient equipment is a worry.
Hence, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao sent a team of IAS Officers to Tamil Nadu to study the implementation process. He is determined to attain at least 50% of market share.
